Lawrence Firefighters Federal Credit Union to merge with NESC Federal Credit Union

The NESC Federal Credit Union (NESC FCU) and Lawrence Firefighters Federal Credit Union (LFFCU) both have long, established histories of serving their memberships, and possess strong bonds and loyalty to their members and staffs. This merger will be advantageous for all parties and will strengthen and enhance our commitment to the credit union philosophy, “people helping people.”
The Board of Directors of each credit union voted unanimously to pursue this merger and we are now waiting regulatory approval from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The merger is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
When the merger is completed, the NESC FCU will serve 12,000 members; have assets of $80 million; three full services branches; and seven ATM locations.
The Board, Management and Staff of both Credit Unions look forward to the proposed merger and the opportunities that it presents.
